Katy is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) and mental health therapist who works with adolescents, young adults, and adults in an individual setting. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Nutrition at the College of Saint Benedict in 2019, her Masters of Psychology degree at Arizona State University in 2021, and completed her license credit requirements at Saint Mary’s University in 2025. She has a background in working with group therapy programs, individual outpatient therapy, and supporting young adults with eating disorders and children with autism.
Katy believes in meeting each client where they are at versus working with a one-size-fits-all approach. She focuses on building an encouraging, authentic, and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship with clients and works to provide a secure and safe environment for the client to grow. Katy works from a person-centered and strengths-based approach, while utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based techniques.
Katy’s approach is focused on empathy and understanding, ensuring that each client feels valued and supported. Areas of interest include anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management, personal development, neurodiversity, academic struggles, LGBTQIA+, interpersonal difficulties, body image and disordered eating, life transitions, self-esteem, and social skills. She enjoys working with ages 12+ in an individual setting. She offers both telehealth and in person services out of the Northfield location.
