River Valley Behavioral Health & Wellness Center, LLC is an outpatient mental health practice in Savage, Minnesota providing holistic and integrative services. We are comprised of an amazing staff who are passionate about providing optimal care to their clients. Our clinicians, which include licensed mental health providers and psychiatric nurse practitioners, are surrounded by a fantastic support team including administrators, billing specialist, licensed nurses, and a clinic manager. Our clinicians incorporate play, individual, couples, family and group therapies to a diverse community. We strive to incorporate health and wellness from the inside out.

Medical Billing Specialist

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Responsible for collecting, posting, and managing account payments. Manage reports pertaining to billing. Obtaining pre-authorizations, negotiating contracts with insurance companies, and managing credentialing for clinicians. Submitting claims and following up with insurance companies on denied or adjudicated claims. Act as a billing resource to staff, insurance companies and patients. Maintain financial records, including entering information into QuickBooks. Assist with financial reporting, reconciliation of accounts, and monthly general accounting records. Special projects for finance/accounting/office areas as needed. Opportunities for professional growth are available.

  • Consults with River Valley Behavioral Health & Wellness Center Board of Directors regarding billing ideas and program development.
  • Performs essential functions of the job during and outside the regular 20-25-hour workweek as needed.
  • Performs job duties primarily on company premises.
  • Efficient with Quickbooks
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
  • Advanced knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Extensive knowledge on use of email, search engine, Internet; ability to effectively use payer websites.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The employee frequently is required to stand, and talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms at all levels including levels below the waist and above the shoulders.
  • Considerable ability to use fine motor skills to manipulate objects requiring manual dexterity.
  • The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 5 pounds for tasks such as transporting laptop computer and patient files.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to focus as it relates to performing tasks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum High School Diploma/GED,

  • Employee must pass all state and federally mandated criminal background checks,
  • Employee must be willing to work well with a team and comply with supervisory direction,
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills,
  • Possession of interpersonal skills necessary to work with co-workers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Some post-secondary education and/or degree preferred,

  • Medical Billing Experience; prior experience in a professional medical physician clinic or hospital preferred.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 coding preferred, not required,
  • Knowledge of business office standard procedures
  • Knowledge of health insurance preferred not required

Job Type: Part-time

Schedule: 20 – 25 hrs/week, 5 days per week

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour

Work Location: Multiple Locations

Therapist Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders in clients of all ages.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to client needs.
  • Manage a caseload of 15-32 client hours per week.
  • Collaborate with families, prescribers, outside agencies, and RV colleagues to provide holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and progress notes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (or higher) in behavioral sciences or a related field.
  • Licensed or on licensure track as PsyD/PHD, LMFT, LPC/LPCC, LGSW, or LSW in Minnesota.
  • Experience with Diagnostic Assessments and treatment planning.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain professional boundaries.
  • A passion for continuous learning and growth in the field of mental health.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or bilingual (Spanish) speakers is a plus.
